THE YERSHOVY SISTERS
Yevlaliia Yershova, violin
Olena Yershova, violin
Nataliia Yershova, violin
Kseniia Yershova, viola
Sofiia Yershova, cello

Originally from Ukraine, the Yershovy sisters came to Ireland four years ago. Soon after arriving, they began performing together as a family string quintet and have since appeared in many concerts across Ireland, both as an ensemble and as soloists. Kseniia, a student of Gregory Ellis and Simon Aspell, has just completed her third year of the BMus degree at MTU Cork School of Music and Yevlaliia, a student of Katherine Hunka, has finished her second year of the same programme. Their younger sisters are also students at the Cork School of Music: Olena and Nataliia study with Gregory Ellis, while Sofiia studies with Chris Marwood. All five sisters are the prizewinners of many competitions, including Feis Ceoil and CSM Concerto and Recital Competitions. Last year, the Yershovy sisters were crowned winners of TG4’s Réalta agus Gaolta and were also featured in FleadhBeo 2025. Their diverse repertoire ranges from classical to folk music, featuring arrangements by Kseniia.
